Plaster Artist Statement.
My artwork is a shoe that has been covered in plaster and paint to give it a new look. It is blue and orange with round edges and curves. The title is simply, Plaster Skate.
My artwork is a shoe that has been covered in plaster and paint to make it resemble an outline roller skate. The full number of materials used is 7. Shoe, cardboard, newspaper, tape, glue, plaster, and paint
My inspiration of the concept of a roller skate came from roller skating being one of my few hobbies. The Colors, Blue with an Orange stripe down the middle, is a reference to my own Original Character, who also uses roller skates. Albeit very different looking skates, but the paint matches the design almost perfectly. The piece isn’t mean to invoke an emotion; however, the concept of skates is usually associated with fun and very relaxing feelings. So, if there is an emotional impact on a viewer than that’s great.
Thankfully, I did have a goal for this project, and I did reach it. I expected this shoe to turn out horribly, with maybe the axils caving it, or the plaster somehow peeling off. Thankfully from a distance it looks like a legit roller-skate that would be seen at a roller rink for rent. This helped me learn the process of making a plaster related project. I doubt that this will help me with future projects, but I’m glad that I got to experience making it.
This piece depicts a disembodied hand along a small spinning top. I used a variety of oranges, yellows, reds, and purples. The most apparent principle in this piece is movement.
The media used in this piece is Prisma colored pencils. I used around 6-7 different pencils to make the piece.
My inspiration for this piece comes from the concept of making something simple yet interesting. My artwork does not express an emotion or social issue of any kind.
My goals for this piece was to learn how to replicate the anatomical structure of a specific hand movement, while not having to use any sort of reference apart from my own hand. While, it may not look 100% accurate, I think it looks more than good enough to be recognizable for what it is. If I can improve upon this way of referencing, maybe I wont need pinterest or google for the next project.

My artwork looks like a bothered student sitting alone in a room. The title of this piece is, "The Conundrums of a Cartoonist". Certain elements of this piece such as, dark scenery are present in this piece.
The media of this art consists of paint and canvas board. I currently have no real form of shading on the piece yet.
My piece is inspired by several graffiti art pieces such as Girl with the red Balloon and other Banksy pieces. My work does show a personal issue but not a "public" issue. I tried to potentially show slight frustration and depression in this piece.
My goals as an artist is to be more professional at drawing anatomy and other body related things. This piece did help me reach those goals by experimenting with drawing a sitting pose.
I learned that background painting is very time consuming. The final piece is not how I imagined due to the lack of paint. This will influence me to hopefully paint faster.
